This is the standard 13 pin system now used in the UK and Europe. This has everything needed for a caravan and is also suitable for a trailer or bike rack where a reverse light is fitted. If you are unsure what you need, this is the best option as adapters are readily available. The 13 pin plug twists into the socket providing a solid connection.
if you are towing a small trailer, an older trailer, a cycle carrier without a reverse light, or using a lighting Board then you only need single-socket electrics. This is a push in plug..
If you are towing an older caravan with 2 electric plugs then a double socket is what you need.
The second socket provides power to the caravan lighting circuits and keeps the fridge working while you are towing.
Plus it also charges the onboard battery in the caravan.
Finally if your caravan is fitted with reversing lights, then this socket provides that circuit.
